Bug 773311 - Copy / paste a relatively long url Evolution only convert it to a http link until the line break

Jeremy Nouhaud
Hello,

I use Evolution 3.20.5 (Fedora 24) and if I copy / paste a relatively
long url in the editor Evolution only convert it to a http link until
the line break.

For exemple if I copy / paste this link (the "x" represent where line
break in Evolution)

http://test.com/ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddx
ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd.html

the http link will stop at the "x"

http://test.com/ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddx

making a wrong url.

I hope I was clear enough. As always if you need more infos just ask :)

Thanks !

It's already reported as #757504

  https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=757504

and discussed on this list starting at

  https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2016-September/msg00195.html

A workaround is to change the line with the URL to being 'preformatted'
 so it doesn't get wrapped.

This is the same bug I reported. Yes, the workaround is to manually set
the line containing the broken URL to 'preformatted', but this is
something of a PITA, it used to be done automatically. The workaround
is straightforward enough, which is why I reported the issue as an
"annoyance".
