Dead clock-applet calendar

Kip Warner
Hey list,

My Gnome panel's clock-applet's calendar doesn't show any events. If I
go into Evolution calendar, I can see actual events.

gnome-panel: 1:2.30.2-1ubuntu3
evolution: 2.32.1-0ubuntu1~ppa0

Are days with events bolded, but no events shown? If so, it's filed as
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=633566

Perhaps you could add your observations to the bug, if you have more
info?

Best,
  Kåre

Hey Kåre,

I don't think that is the same bug, since my events display fine *in*
Evolution's calendar, but if I look in the gnome-panel's clock applet,
no events are displayed and the days aren't bolded either.

If you're using Evolution 2.32 then you're also using E-D-S 2.32.
gnome-panel 2.30 was probably built with libraries from E-D-S 2.30.
There was a D-Bus API break in 2.32, so you have a version mismatch.

I'd recommend upgrading to gnome-panel 2.32 or else rebuild gnome-panel
2.30 against E-D-S 2.32.

I'm not an Ubuntu user so I can't tell you where or how.

Agreed. Thank you.

If you happen to come across the upstream bug that's already been filed,
let me know.

Ah, that makes sense. I wish the gnome-panel would have given some kind
of helpful user level notification of this. I'll file a bug report.
