Intermittent loss of mail using evolution-ews

Joakim Tjernlund-2
For quite some time now I have experienced loss of email in evolution-ews every 2-3 days.
This loss is per folder. It starts with E having problems marking mails as read or deleting
mail(they don't go away/sometimes just overstrucken). Then some new/all new mails to that folder
don't appear in E, I notice I have unread mail via other mail clients(Android/webmail).

Sometimes I can get back those mail by choosing Refresh on folder level but mostly
I need to restart E, then do a Refresh en each problematic folder to get my mail back.

It seems like E loses sync with the mail server and then cannot recover. The mail sever is
on the other side of the Atlantic with ping times 170-180 ms and quite busy.

Which evolution and evolution-ews versions is this about?
https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Evolution/Debugging provides debug info.

        Hi,
as Andre said, it depends on your versions. Tell us which they are,
please.

Possibly related bug is:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=786636

        Bye,
        Milan

Fairly recent, 3.24.5 (evolution-data-server is 3.24.6)
I think I first noticed this in June (with whatever version that was current at the time)

Yes, this bug is very similar. I have noticed loss of mail in Sent Items too.

        Hi,
okay. Could you join the above bug, please? Eventually also follow this
one:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=786208
which seems to have some clues, though I do not know why it happened.
It did not happen on my machine yet, but my accounts are not that
active. Ideally if you can compile yourself (I can provide test
packages only for Fedora, I do not know/do not have access to other
distributions), to be able to apply some test patches. I actively debug
the issue with two of the reporters already.
        Thanks and bye,
        Milan

Sure, I am on Gentoo so if you can send patches again 3.24.5 I can
rebuild. I already removed this the EWS backoff:

and that might have made it a little better but didn't fix it.
