imap path prefix

Is it possible to set up an imap path prefix in Evolution?
I can’t find out how.

comes to my mind but not sure that's still the situation.
Also, which version do you use?

Re: imap path prefix

I tried to edit:

[Imapx Backend]
Namespace=INBOX
UseNamespace=true

but it doesn’t work.
My version of Evo is 3.26.1

        Hi,
some change sin underlying files may require restart of evolution
itself, to take into effect. Another thing might be (I do not recall,
thus this is just a guess) there there might be added also the
directory separator, which can be a dot, a forward slash or something
else, depending on your server setup. You can see what it uses with:

   $ CAMEL_DEBUG=imapx:io evolution

and search for LIST responses. You'll see there both the directory
separator and how the Inbox is advertised by the server. As an example,
if the directory separator is a dot, then the value could be:

   [Imapx Backend]
   Namespace=INBOX.

Again, I'm only guessing here.
        Bye,
        Milan

        Hi,
I see from the log that it lists only folders under the Inbox folder,
thus it does what you told it to do, as far as I can tell.

What are you trying to achieve, please?
        Bye,

Re: imap path prefix

Hello,
My goal is to have all the mail boxes on the same level of the root and eliminate the subfolders.

        Hi,
I see. I'm afraid that they are under Inbox and the Inbox is an "always
added folder", then causing subfolders of Inbox shown on the same level
as Inbox is not possible, at least not in the Evolution.

By the way, the server itself already responses that your personal
namespace is "Inbox.":

My memory of this is hazy, but I think the original IMAP standard
specifies Inbox as the root of all the user's mailboxes, because that's
the way it was done at Carnegie-Mellon. Only later did IMAP servers
offer the option of an "anonymous root", which I suspect is now more
common. If so, the OP should talk to his mail admins to see if they are
willing to change this. IIRC it's a system-wide change so they may not
want to.

O.K. I understand and I give up.
Nonetheless I wonder why other clients have this possibility.
Thanks and bye.
